An expose of implementing BECCA across 58 schools; identifying opportunities and building capacity for serving our families through resource brokering and process refinement.

1. Create a plan for instituting BECCA with fidelity.
2. Assemble a community, District or School BECCA team model; aligning values and principles to ensure BECCA requirements are followed.
3. Apply restorative principles of Compassion, Understanding, Relationship capital, Empathy and Empowerment, when working with families in Truancy.

Explore and address the intersection of policing practices and systemic racism impacting Black youth and youth of color both in schools and in their broader communities. This workshop is designed to equip participants with the tools and knowledge to combat racial injustice and advocate for equitable treatment in educational and community settings

1. Evidence-Based Analysis: Collect and analyze evidence related to student learning outcomes, focusing on the impact of harmful practices on Black boys and communities of color. Utilize this data to inform strategies that address disparities in educational achievements.
2. Professional Standards and Improvement: Examine how professional certification standards can be leveraged to promote equitable practices. Discuss school and district improvement efforts that focus on dismantling systemic racism and fostering an inclusive environment.
3. Curriculum Alignment and K-12 Frameworks: Explore how K-12 frameworks and curriculum alignment can be refined to better support Black boys and communities of color. Emphasize the integration of culturally responsive pedagogy and anti-racist education into the curriculum.
4. Research-Based Instructional Strategies: Identify and promote research-based instructional strategies and assessment practices that reduce bias and enhance the academic success of Black boys and communities of color.
5. Leadership and Advocacy: Foster a commitment to advocacy, leadership, supervision, and mentoring/coaching that prioritizes the well-being and academic achievement of Black boys and communities of color. Discuss how educators can take active roles in advocating for systemic changes.
